My client, a talented musician, came to me with the intention of supporting herself entirely with her music. She perceived that the primary obstacle to her success was her overwhelming stage fright. I noticed that she actually had multiple ideas about her future career path and observed that this would resolve itself through the coaching process.
Through coaching, it became clear that the true emotion she was carrying was not fear, but grief about losses in her past. As we worked together she was able to release these old feelings, which resulted in her becoming more present in her daily life. She had more energy for her music and produced a CD that she was proud of. She created healthier boundaries in her relationships and through that process, found more clarity about what she really wanted in terms of a home and career. Her desire to support herself entirely as a musician shifted to providing herself with both creativity and stability.
When we closed our coaching relationship, she was enjoying a new career in a music-oriented environment and playing music as a hobby. But, the most important change that we observed was that the old grief which had defined her life during anniversary times of the year was no longer a guiding force. Her heart was happy ~ and unafraid.
